About Church Hill Landscapes
CHURCH HILL LANDSCAPES IS AN AWARD-WINNING LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION AND LANDSCAPE SERVICE COMPANY BASED IN CHARLOTTE, VERMONT.
Our Mission
From patios and walkways to perennial gardens and healthy lawns, our mission is to help our customers live a better life outdoors.
Our Work
We build custom walkways, patios, walls, gardens, lawns and terraces that are inspired by the surrounding landscape. But our goals are even bigger than that. We want to build a patio where you gather with friends on a summer evening. Create the fire pit where you teach your child to build a campfire. Nurture your landscape to create a retreat for a hot summer day. We care about the quality of work we do, the relationships we forge, and the results we leave behind.
Our Team
Church Hill Landscapes employs a dedicated team of gardeners, lawn care specialists, designers, landscape installers and stonemasons along with outdoor lighting and audio experts.
Our Story
1996
Founding owner, Nate Carr, met his now wife and co-owner, Stacy Fraser, when they were studying ecological agriculture and sustainable development at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. The natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest ignited their life-long love of horticulture and beautiful outdoor spaces. Nate spent his last year of college at the University of Vermont studying plant and soil science and landscape design.
After graduation, Nate and Stacy put down roots in Vermont and tended 2 acres of organic vegetables and flowers in Charlotte, VT for one growing season.
Ready for the next adventure, Nate changed focus from growing food to cultivating perennials at an ornamental nursery in Vergennes, VT. There, he deepened his horticultural knowledge and passion for ornamental landscapes. Stacy launched into a culinary career at Eating Well (originally founded in Charlotte, VT) where she pivoted from growing food to creating healthy recipes for Eating Well magazine and eatingwell.com.
2002
Nate founded Church Hill Landscapes out of a desire to create diverse, beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces for clients across Vermont. He launched with a red truck and a small crew of fellow landscapers and horticulturists. His first customers challenged him with requests for naturalistic backyard waterfalls and custom-crafted landscapes. In completing those projects beyond customer satisfaction, he set the precedent for quality workmanship and exceptional landscape stewardship that exists within the company today.
2017
Stacy transitioned from the culinary world back to her horticultural roots and joined Nate as the business manager and co-owner of Church Hill Landscapes. Together, they lead a dedicated team of hard-working people who build and care for creative landscapes across Vermont.
2022
Church Hill Landscapes celebrated 20 years of helping our customers live a better life outdoors.
