Richmond Backyard Terraces

Challenged by a backyard that sloped steeply away from the house, these homeowners wanted to create a pleasant, comfortable place to watch their kids play. We used a local fieldstone to terrace the space and create aesthetically pleasing sitting walls, then constructed steps, patios, and walkways from local bluestone. To add texture to the landscape and help retain planting beds, large boulders were harvested from the site and placed strategically in the new landscape.
